【Overview】
Skin is the biggest organ of human body, people seeking answers of skin disorders for hundreds of years. With the development of modern technology, the revolutionary understanding of dermatology has been emerged. This program aims to introduce dermatology from basic knowledge to recent progresses in major categories, including immune dysregulation, skin tumor, skin microbiome and recently developed artificial intelligence. The program is equipped with world-class experts and supported with frontier knowledge. The course sets up with experts in diverse fields from Asia, North America, and Europe. All of the instructors are experienced researcher in their field. The courses will be provided in English. Attendees can expect immersed learning experience in the structured lectures.

Professor Songmei Geng
Professor Songmei Geng the director of dermatology of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University and director of dermatology research institute of Precision Research Institute. She was the visiting scholar in Columbia University, Brigham Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School. She is currently a member of the Committee of Dermatology Branch of Chinese Medical Doctor Association, chairman of the rare genetic disease committee of Dermatology in the Branch of Chinese Medical Doctor Association, member of the therapeutics group of Dermatology Branch of China Medical Association etc. She has won the New Century Talent Support Plan of the Ministry of Education, the 8th Shaanxi Youth Science and Technology Award, etc. She hosted 5 projects of the Natural Science Foundation of China. She has 98 publications with 876 citations, The article has been published in Nat Commun, J Invest Dermatol, J Cell Sci, J Acad Dermatol Vernero, J Euro Dermatol Vernero, Clin Exp dermatol etc..
Professor Zhi Liu
Professor Zhi Liu completed his PhD at the Medical College of Wisconsin in the United States and completed a post-doctoral training as a Burroughs Wellcome Postdoctoral Research Fellow in skin autoimmunity and inflammation at the same institution. Dr. Liu joined the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he is a Professor of Dermatology and Microbiology and Immunology. The research Interest of Prof. Liu including skin autoimmunity, skin inflammation, innate immunity, cell-cell matrix adhesion. He has over 170 publications with 7,931 citations and h-index of 43. The publication of Professor Liu covers the highly impacted journals i.e. Cell, J. Clin. Invest., Proc. Natl Acad Sci USA, J. Exp. Med., J. Invest. Dermatol, J. Autoimmune, J Immunol, etc.
Professor Vincent Piguet
Professor Vincent Piguet, MD, PhD, FRCP, was appointed as full professor and department division director of dermatology, department of medicine, university of Toronto and division head of dermatology, Women’s College Hospital, Toronto. Professor Piguet has authored over 260 publications in the fields of dermatology, dendritic cells, HIV, gene therapy, immunology and vaccination in a range of highly cited peer review journals such as Cell, Immunity, The Lancet, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Journal of Investigative Dermatology, Blood, and Nature Medicine. He has received numerous grants (including as principal investigator from the Human Frontier Science Program and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation) to further his research including in the areas of HIV, psoriasis, melanoma and immunology.
Professor Bin Zheng
Professor Bin Zheng was employed as associate professor in Harvard Medical School and associate investigator in Cutaneous Biology Research Center of Massachusetts General Hospital. He is working to decipher the molecular alterations in metabolic regulation and signal transduction that drives cancer, with a focus on melanoma. His research interest including metabolic regulation of tumor immunity, roles of AMPK at the interface of metabolism and cancer, repurposing phenformin for cancer therapy, metabolic rewiring and BRAFi resistance, metabolic heterogeneity in melanoma, alterations of 3D genome organization in melanoma. He has publications on Proc Natl Acad Sci USA, Nat Commun, J Invest Dermatol, Clin Cancer Res, etc.
Professor Hongying Meng
Hongying Meng received the Ph.D. degree in communication and electronic systems from Xi’an Jiaotong University, Xi’an China, in 1998. He is currently a Reader with the Department of Electronic and Electrical Computer Engineering, Brunel University London, Uxbridge, U.K. He has authored over 160 publications, including IEEE Transactions on Image Processing (TIP), IEEE Transactions on Cybernetics (TCYB), IEEE Transactions on Fuzzy Systems (TFS), IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control (TAC), IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems for Video Technology (TCSVT), IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Engineering (TBE), IEEE Transactions on Cognitive and Developmental Systems (TCDS), and IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP). His research interests include digital signal processing, effective computing, machine learning, human–computer interaction, and computer vision.,Dr. Meng is an Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems for Video Technology (TCSVT) and the IEEE Transactions on Cognitive and Developmental Systems (IEEE TCDS).
Dr. Jingang An
Associate Professor An Jingang graduated from Xi'an Jiaotong University in 2010 and was sponsored by the China Scholarship Council to be a senior visiting scholar at the Ackerman Academy of Dermatopathology in the United States in 2019. He has published more than 10 papers, including two papers in The Lancet. He is now in charge of the Specialized Dermatitis Clinic in the Department of Dermatology at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University.
Dr. Yale Liu
Dr. Yale Liu received her MD certificate in 2012 and continued her scientific study at the school of medicine, Xi'an Jiaotong University, China. After obtaining a Ph.D. in 2017 and working for two years as a dermatologist, she was employed as a post-doctoral researcher at the University of California, San Francisco, USA, from 2019 to 2021, with the position maintained in the affiliated hospital. Currently, she is an associate professor and dermatologist at the Department of Dermatology, the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University, China.
Dr. Zhaowei Chu
Dr. Zhaowei Chu received her MD and PhD degree from Xi'an Jiaotong University. Prior to that, she was granted the Chinese Government Scholarship and has been a visiting Ph.D. student at Harvard University for two years. She joined Xi'an Jiaotong University in 2020, and was selected for the “XJTU Program A for Supporting Young and Excellent Talents” in 2023. She is currently a resident dermatologist and assistant researcher at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University. Her research interest mainly focuses on skin tumors and inflammatory skin diseases.
Dr. Bin Peng
Dr. Bin Peng received his MD and PhD degree from Xi'an Jiaotong University. He was awarded a scholarship under the State Scholarship Fund to be a joint PhD student at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 2015-2017. After graduation, he worked as a dermatologist in the Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University, and has been focusing on dermatopathology and the research of autoimmune blistering diseases.
Dr. Zhao Wang
Dr. Zhao Wang received her MD, PhD in Humboldt university, Berlin, German in 2022. Now she is employed as an associate professor, resident in the dermatology department of the second affiliated hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University. Her research interest is in the pathophysiology of hypersensitivity disease including urticaria, angioedema, and mast cell biology. She has hosted 1 Natural Science Foundation of China and 1 project from Natural Science Foundation of China. She has now 19 publications with 253 citations.
Dr. Danchen Hu
Dr. Danchen Hu received her MD degree in dermatology and venereology from Peking University. After graduation, Dr. Hu has been working in the department of dermatology at the second hospital affiliated to Xi'an Jiaotong University. She has been working on hair diseases and hair pathology, and has published a number of papers in these areas. She is currently doing some research on hair and immunology.
