Prof. Li Haopeng, M.D., Ph.D. supervisor, is the chair of the spine surgery division at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University.
He holds a degree in clinical medicine from Xi’an Jiaotong University and received masters and doctorate degrees in surgical there. He completed his residency in orthopaedics at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University and specialized in spine orthopaedics with training from Dr. Thomas Hoogland in Munich Germany. He has been in practice since 1997.
He is Board-certified by the AOSpine International. He cares for all patients with spinal concerns including, atlantoaxis dislocation, cervical spondylosis, lumber disc herniation, thoracicolumbar stenosis, and scoliosis. His clinical and research interests include non-fusion surgery, 3D printing prosthesis, spinal cord injury, and degeneration of nucleus pulposus.
He is a long-time, active member of the International Association of Neurorestoratology and a member of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association. He has published 40 SCI journal papers and hosts 3 projects supported by the National Natural Science Foundation.
