China member Chen Jingguo says GCCR scientists now believe loss of smell to be the most reliable indicator that someone has had COVID. He's hoping more research and more awareness could help those countries still battling outbreaks.

Scientists have turned their attention to one of the stranger symptoms of COVID-19 – the loss of smell,on March,2020. Meanwhile,Global Consortium for Chemosensory Research (GCCR) was established. Dr. Chen Jingguo joined the organization in the early days of its establishment as a member of the Study Selection Team (SST) of the organization, and presided over one of the GCCR sub-projects. Dr. Chen Jingguo's research has received extensive attention from colleagues and news media domestic and overseas.
